I created this vision board during the 2012 autumn equinox. Although I had been collecting images and magazines for this purpose, it had been a few years since I last created one. I am grateful for the goddess retreat that was the impetus this time around. Once I sat down to the activity, my heart poured open. Glitter, paper, glue covered my kitchen table.
Some elements of this board:
- Surfboards – Surfboards represent my deep desire to learn to surf. (Everyone knows my affinity with the ocean, and other bodies of water.)
- Horse – I would love to have access to a horse that I can ride regularly. Relationships with animals calm and ground me.
- Drum – I intend to continue developing my percussions skills. (Thanks to Corey & LaQuita Staten with Atumpan: The Talking Drums, I am off to a great start.)
- Passport – International travel is in my near future.
- Luggage – I always want to have the ability to up and go somewhere on a whim. I love being spontaneous and open to going whereever the wind takes me.
- Journal – My reminder to journal regularly. I usually jot down thoughts and observations on scraps. However, I realize the value of keeping my stream of consciousness in a centralized place so that I can quickly and simply string elements together.
- Octavia Butler – She is one of my creative writing muses. I intend to have a book published in the next 5 years.
- Bob Marley – He is my lyrical muse and for me symbolic of the complexity of personal and social struggles.
- Shirley Chisholm – She is my role model for self-determination (aka my solar plexus muse).
- Hungarian Vizsla – I see a dog in my long term future as a companion.
- Works by Tamara Natalie Madden – She is my visual arts muse. TNM is bold and whimsical.
- Chakras – I intend to consciously support my inner balance and harmony.
- Feathers – I am taking my wings and flying in 2013 and beyond.

What are you dreaming about? What’s on your vision board??
